Item Duplication
Item Duplication is a fundamental glitch in Dark Souls that allows players to bypass standard game mechanics to multiply items in their inventory or items they uses.
By using this glitch, you can rapidly accumulate essential resources such as Souls, Humanity, and Upgrade Materials (like Titanite Shards or Twinkling Titanite). This provides a massive advantage early in the run, allowing for high-level weapon reinforcements and rapid character leveling without the need for traditional farming.

Below, you will find the most useful and relevant methods for item duplication. While other methods exist, most are too slow or are not currently used in any speedrun categories.
Brightness dupe
The Brightness Dupe is a menu-layering glitch that allows players to consume a single item (such as a Soul or Humanity) as if they were using a massive stack. By default, the game initializes this value at 99, but it can be manipulated further.
By opening the 'Drop' prompt on a stack of 999 arrows for example and then canceling the action to don't loose them, the player "stores" that specific quantity in the game's memory. Through precise menu navigation, this stored value is then applied to a consumable. This trick grants the benefit of 999 uses instantly, bypassing the need to actually possess that many items.

Negative Dupe
Negative Duping is a form of menu-layering that exploits the logic behind item quantity calculations. By storing a negative quantity in the game's memory, you can trick it into granting a positive amount of items. This glitch is very useful because it allows the player to duplicate items without a confirmation box like upgrade materials, boss souls, or covenant items.
The most common way to do it is for PC only since it require the use of a mouse but a console version is possible as shown bellow.

Frampt Dupe (PC only)
Frampt dupe is a form of duping that uses the bottomless box and Frampt to duplicate any consumable / upgarde materials .
It is used in the current All Achievements route.

Frame dupe
Frame dupe is a form of duping that makes the last item of your stack duplicable infinitely.
For example, if you carry 6 firebombs, you need to use up the first 5 before being able to duplicate the effects of the sixth one to throw a seventh, eighth, ... firebomb. It was discovered by Noobest in late 2013 on PTDE version of the game.
To execute this, as you use up your last item, queue up another use of it again on the very last frames of the item-use animation where your item number still says "1".

Confirmation Box Dupe (PC Only)
The Confirmation Box Dupe is a glitch that allows the player to consume a high-value item that triggers a confirmation prompt (such as Homeward Bones or Boss Souls) while actually consuming a different, more common item (like an Estus Flask or a Firebomb). This trick effectively allows the player to gain the benefits of the rare item without losing it from their inventory.
Note : This glitch only works on Version 1.01 of the game, you can use this version by doing a downpatch on your game.
